Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 29, 2026
1. Introduction
Saga Crafter is operated by ZYEYZ LLC, doing business as Snowy Mountain Software, a Montana limited liability company ("we", "our", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our AI-powered novel writing software and related services.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account information (email address, name, password)
- Payment information (processed securely via Stripe)
- Your manuscripts, characters, world-building notes, and other creative content
- Communications with our support team
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data (features used, time spent, actions taken)
- Device information (browser type, operating system)
- Log data (IP address, access times, pages viewed)
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain our services
- To process your transactions and manage your subscription
- To improve our AI writing assistants and features
- To send you updates, newsletters, and marketing communications (with your consent)
- To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
4. Your Content and AI Processing
Your manuscripts and creative content are processed by our AI agents to provide writing assistance, consistency checking, and other features. We do not use your personal creative content to train our AI models. Your stories remain yours.
Content is sent to the third-party AI providers we use to generate responses. Depending on how the service is configured, these are Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI, and Google (Gemini) for text, and OpenAI or Stability AI for image generation. We select providers whose commercial API terms state that content submitted through their APIs is not used to train their models. Their handling of that content is governed by their own privacy policies as well as this one.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- Service providers who assist in operating our platform (hosting, payments, analytics)
- AI providers for processing your content (under strict data agreements)
- Legal authorities when required by law or to protect our rights
6. Data Security
All traffic between you and the Service is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, never in a recoverable form, and credentials we hold on your behalf -- cloud storage access tokens, for example -- are encrypted before being stored. Your workspace is isolated from every other workspace at the database level, not only in application code.
To be precise about what we do not do: your manuscripts and Codex entries are stored in our database in readable form, protected by access controls and by the encryption of the underlying disk, rather than encrypted individually with a key only you hold. We scan our dependencies for known vulnerabilities, but we do not currently commission third-party security audits or penetration tests. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access and download your data
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Opt out of marketing communications
- Request data portability
7a. Data Retention
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account, your content is removed from our live systems, and you may request a copy of your data within 30 days of termination as described in our Terms of Service. Backups and billing records are retained for a limited period afterwards where we are required to keep them or need them to resolve disputes.
8. Cookies and Tracking
We use essential cookies for authentication and preferences. Where analytics are enabled we use Google Analytics and Mixpanel to understand how the service is used; these set their own cookies and are governed by their own privacy policies. You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings.
9. Children's Privacy
Saga Crafter is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through our service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
11. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, or want to make a request about your own data, please contact ZYEYZ LLC dba Snowy Mountain Software through our contact form. We reply to the address you provide and use it for nothing else.
